The
purpose of Cesar Chavez Academy High School Uniform Policy is to
promote an
academic, orderly school climate, to maintain discipline, and prevent
disruption of the educational process.
Definitions
and guidelines of acceptable and non-acceptable
CCAH dress
- ·
Only blue CCAHS polo
shirts
(NO COLORED SHIRTS MAY BE WORN UNDER SHIRTS) only
white tee shirts, white turtlenecks or white mock turtlenecks.
Under shirts can
not extend pass the polo shirt.
- ·
NO
BLUE JEANS, JEAN LIKE MATERIAL, SPANDEX OR SWEAT PANTS. No hanging
colored
belts are allowed (black belts only) blue, black or tan dress
pants/slacks
only. Pants must fit properly no sagging.
- ·
Blue
Walking Shorts and skirts may be worn beginning in the summer months
usually
after the Memorial Day holiday. Walking
shorts and skirts must be knee length, no mini skirts are allowed.
- ·
Dress or casual shoes,
solid black or white gym shoes may be worn NO
colored shoe strings white or black only. For health and
safety reasons, no open toe
or open heel shoes are allowed, to include flip flops, slippers,
sandals or
heels over 2 inches.

CCAH
does not provide dress pants/slacks for students; the student and/or
family are
responsible for purchasing their own dress pants/slacks.

Hats,
headbands, handkerchiefs worn as headbands or do-rags other than for
religious
resons are never allowed in school, they will be confiscated if they
are worn.
- ·
All
hooded jackets; hooded sweat shirts must be removed upon entering the
CCAH
building and placed in the student’s locker and/or in the classroom
on the back
of the desk. ( solid blue, black or white only) NO graphics, logos, or
designs.
- ·
CCAHS
attire; shirts, fleece pullover etc. may be available for purchase
depending on
availability.
IMPORTANT: CCAHS STUDENTS ARE
REQUIRED TO BE IN DRESS CODE MONDAY-
THROUGH FRIDAY. Procedure: Students will
be given the opportunity to correct
their dress attire by utilizing the (2) steps listed below:
- Parents/Guardian will be
contacted to either pick-up their son/daughter, or bring them the
appropriate clothing or give son/daughter permission to go home and
change.
- Students may exchange a
personal item of value in return for CCAH shirt and/or pants, the
loaned clothing must be retuned at the end of the school day at that
time the student will receive their property. (A perfect fit is
not guaranteed)
If a student is not able
to correct their dress attire an alternative
consequence will be given such as, assisting the janitorial staff,
cleaning the
school grounds etc, Students will not be allowed to attend class and
will be
counted as absent which will result in lost of credit in all scheduled
classes,
in addition students will serve a 20 minute after school detention the
following day.
If a student does not
respond to a request from school staff
to correct their uniform (ex; tuck in shirt, remove colored undershirt,
remove
hoodie etc.) it will be considered insubordination and that student
will
receive 1-2 day suspension.
Note: Cesar Chavez
Academy High School retains the right to
modify dress code at any time when deemed necessary.
Reasonable effort will be made to notify
parents and students.
